About this time last year, I spent 3 days trying to get a 3C589C
working on my AcerNote Light.  I still can't get it to work with
PCMCIA support.  The problem is the bridge in the Acer.  Mike Smith
has more details on that.  But I'd certainly qualify the statement
that the 3C589 should *always* work.
