True, but this is just another thing which is nicer about
FreeBSD. FreeBSD is FreeBSD. If only Linux were that simple.

Not from what I've seen. OK, maybe SuSE was just particularly bad, maybe
I'd get better luck with DeadRat (though I wouldn't use that, I'd like a
version of Perl which works, from what I've heard DeadRat can't manage
that) or Debian, but I don't intend to try.  Maybe I'll give another
distribution a try at some point, but I doubt it. I certainly can't see
how it could be better than FreeBSD though, personally.

If there weren't multiple distributions, this problem wouldn't be here in
the first place.
