[ ... ] If you start the program under GDB, the debugger ought to receive the signal before the program's signal handler does, so you can grab a backtrace from there. Certainly the truss output you did obtain was enough to answer Joe's question about which font was being used, and perhaps give some idea as to what is going on when the crash happens... -- -Chuck
