I spent half of last night trying to cut and trim as much out of the kernel as I could so it would boot on a 386SX-20 with 3 MB of RAM. Needless bloat is just that. (And FWIW, I made it to 997K, with just wdc0, fdc0, sio(4), ppp(4), and MSDOS support.
