Looks like the xf86config script hung.  :)

If you want to try that again, just run xf86config, that will get you 
back to configuring X.

Everything else should be in sysconfig, which I think you found.

Does it have a nameserver entry?  Is /etc/resolv.conf set up correctly?  
(ie is there a "nameserver xx.yy.zz.qq" entry in there)

Either do it in sysconfig or you can temporarily get it upusing ifconfig.
