I can confirm that it's not a problem in 6.2-RELEASE/amd64. With the 
machdep.hyperthreading_allowed set to 0, a machine I have with dual 
hyperthreaded 2.8GHz Xeons will no longer schedule processes for 
"hyperthreading" CPUs.
