Thanks, I'll try that. I do not mistrust automatic fan control; I just want to ensure that fan is not dirty (jammed) or broken; hence I needed a way to force fan and see how it goes. Once I rule out fan as a reason for these lock-ups I see in Tiger, I'll be happy with normal fan management. ./danfe
