There is definately a problem with FreeBSD 4.7-PRE because I've been running many apps (yes) on this box with 4.6-STABLE but with my stupidity, I did have a cron on the box that did CVSUP every Friday and without thinking twice (it does happen) I did recompile a kernel with those src. The next moment uname showed me I was on 4.7-PRE. I therefore had to complete things - update the userland and problems have been my bedmate ever since 2 days ago. This machine is an SMP box, with 2 500MHz Pentiums and 256MB. Nothing to sing about but it's been working. I'll try to see why this is happening. It's not only named that died, but httpd also ;) One last question: Whenever I write to you, I do get the message below: bind-users@isc.org SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO:: host rc.isc.org [204.152.187.2]: 554 : Recipient address rejected: Service unavailable - [62.8.64.4] blocked using reject-mail.vix.com. *THIS IS NOT A MAPS SERVICE*- Contact postmaster@isc.org if you disagree with this listing. Could you know what is happening here? I guess you are probably getting the mail I CC to freebsd-stable and not bind-users. I could quickly fix the reason that's making my server to be blocked if I knew where to go to do it.
