Replacing the ahc0 by a sym0 didn't help.  I also tried resetting
the BIOS defaults, just in case.

There's a Teles ISDN card and a IEEE-488 card (both really old ISA
stuff) in that machine which currently have no FreeBSD drivers
attached.  I'll try removing those to see whether they might be in
ACPI's way.
