While I perfonally don't administer such machines, 3ware 9K series were quite popular some ten years ago for building hardware RAIDs, and I assume there should be lots of cards still in good use. E.g. Hetzner still provides (and updates) instructions on how to use those on their didicated servers*. Why drop support in the first place?
