Some followup, pjd tried to help me on IRC, without getting much =20
further on the actual problem.
Some more information:

Also tried accessing the disks (to make sure interrupts etc where =20
alive) ,using dd if=3D/dev/adXX of=3D/dev/null count=3D1 on every disk =
on =20
the system, works fine.
Rebooted the system and tried with zfs debugging enabled too, and =20
doing zpool import tank instead of just zpool import. no difference. =20
Hanging there now.
