Although I cannot find this XFree86 release as a "package", I had no problem installing/upgrading XFree86-3.3.3.1 via the standard extract facility. However, the package database does not seem to reflect that 3.3.3.1 is installed, and refuses to install packages that need it. Here is a typical error from a pkg_add: Package `qt-1.42' depends on `XFree86-3.3.3.1'. pkg_add: could not find package XFree86-3.3.3.1 ! pkg_add: 1 package addition(s) failed How do I update the package dependency database or somehow get packages that depend on XFree86-3.3.3.1 to install? >How-To-Repeat: Do a pkg_add of any package that depends on XFree86-3.3.3.1. E.g. pkg_add qt-1.42.tgz >Fix: I suspect that adding XFree86-3.3.3.1 as a package or somehow updating the package database would fix the problem. >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted: To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-ports" in the body of the message
