What is at SCSI ID 6? You're not confusing this message with the messages for the Seagate are you? You don't tell us what is at SCSI ID 6; it apparently doesn't support wide transfers. Go into Adaptec SCSI Select Utilities and disable wide negotiation for this device. Some older devices choke when negotiating wide transfers, so if you're having problems getting SCSI ID 6 recognized by the kernel, disable wide negotiation. Dan Eischen deischen@iworks.InterWorks.org
