I investigated a little bit and replaced if_spppsubr.c, if_sppp.h and the spppcontrol-sources with those of 4.0-current. Connection to my provider with fixed IP and no authentication works now. Connections to providers using dynamic IPs and gateways are still not working. Too bad that I can't distinguish "provider with fixed IP and PAP" from "provider with dynamic IP without PAP". So I don't know until now where is the problem (dynamic IPs, dynamic remote side (gateway) or PAP). I'll continue investigating but it seems to be a problem in if_spppsubr.c and not in isdn4bsd (isdn4bsd just gets the "carrier down" signal from sppp). What's the appropriate mailing list for sppp? Is it still ok to post sppp problems or success with sppp in this mailing list?
