I have no problem with you being the maintainer. I will be setting up a new FreeBSD box in about a week. I'll try any changes you have made to the port on it when I get it set up. We should look at modifying the script to produce an ELF file. If you have the time you might try changing the -aout argument to -elf and see what happens. It may just work.
