Dual Pentium Pro, COMPAQ Proliant 800, System board 0579
System (both kernel and binaries) rebuild from sources freshly cvsupped.
>Description:

If options SMP is present in kernel config, kernel will not load - after
'programming APIC' message it hangs. Problem begins between 4.3-RELEASE and
4.4-RELEASE.
>How-To-Repeat:

Try to use SMP on equivalent HW. Activate SMP in kernel config and rebuild.
>Fix:

No known work around to me.
Without SMP in kernel everything works as expected.
