I remember that when I had FreeBSD 4.1 and dialup via modem, I had tried to turn them on and it did some bad things to me. I don't remember what it was, but it was not tolerable. I can dig the archives and see what it was. Did something change in this field since 4.1-S ? Does it have any practical significance? Thank you in advance, P.S.
