* From: Will Andrews <andrews@technologist.com> * And upon deinstall, we would delete the symlinks if they exist, and not * return an error if they don't, right? * * We also need to have a method for restoring symlinks, thereby allowing an * easier "upgrade" path. Yes and yes. That's really the whole point. * I like this idea! Glad someone finally agrees! :) (Hey billf, where are you -- we discussed this last November, remember?) Anyway, we don't need to get into a long discussion over pies in the sky, but does anyone have an objection to the main proposal (PKGNAME -> PORTNAME/VERSION)? If not, I'll coordinate with mharo (portlint maintainer, who also seems to have taken upon the task of touching as many Makefiles as humanely possible) to convert the tree and update associate documentation/upgrade kits/whatnot. If anyone else also wants to help, that will be great. :) Satoshi To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-ports" in the body of the message
