I don't want to give anyone the impression that I was suggesting
unilateral change in the VFS system.  I totally agree with David that
maintaining a consistent interface between the various strains 4.4BSD can
only be a good thing.

In fact, I imagine that Kirk is probably addressing some of these issues
right now, since he appears to be doing filesystem work at the moment.
