Myself, I have been unable to produce a valid crash dump with dumpdev on a GEOM_MIRROR device (even with "prefer" set for the first component; then again if the order in which the consumers are detected changes during boot accidentally, prefer won't work as well). -- Kamigishi Rei KREI-RIPE
