An example of this is can be seen in the "(&man.more.1; ..." rendering in http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/articles/fbsd-from-scratch/stage1.html which is rendered as ( more(1) ^ extra space here. Can an SGML guru have a look at this?
