Hi! Sometimes things are not the way they seem to be... <8-) I tried to install 3.0-970823-SNAP with MP SPEC v1.1 three times. I chose the following distributions: bin, des/des, manpages and src/sys. The result always was a panic after printing "Attempting to install all selected distributions..". Then I switched over to MP SPEC v1.4. To accelerate the install process I left out the manpages. This try was successful. So I thought the different MP SPEC solved the problem. But using the distributions bin, des/des, manpages and src/sys with MP SPEC v 1.4 crashes the machine a the same point. So the cause is not the MP SPEC but the combination of distributions. Sorry for giving wrong alarm...
