ELF format has become "industry standard". Every Unix Vendor, who
migrated his OS to SVR4, has done the final step to ELF format.
HP, Silicon Graphics, Sun, ...

When thinking about switching to ELF, couldn't it have the following
advantages:

	- you show that FreeBSD follows industry standards
	- you would be able to use the newest binutils, so to
say the newest GNU assembler, from what I've heard,
that he has some advantages over the one we use now
	- you get the advantages, that ELF offers over COFF and
	  a.out.
