That doesn't enter into it here. We're talking about the time it takes to get an estimate. There is no network I/O during that operation. Again... dump 0fhs /dev/null 0 1048576 /usr takes a half hour dump 0fs /dev/null 1048576 /usr takes 15 seconds when presented with a /usr with chflags nodump /usr/src /usr/obj /usr/sup /usr/ports.
