Then, send the inetd-process a HUP signal. This could probably be done as a one-liner, but here is one way of doing this: trisha# ps x | grep inetd 161 ?? Is 0:00.14 /usr/sbin/inetd -wW Find the pid (number in the first column). In my case, it's now 161.
