We've got this nice make.conf variable to control which XFree86 version is going to be built. On the other hand, it seems that every port that has optional X support has a different way to specify it. Has anyone looked at providing a single make.conf variable that can be set to disable it for all ports (assuming you don't override it)? For that matter, the same question can be asked about TCL/Python/Perl/(others?) support in a number of packages.
