There are some cases where this isn't going to happen. One example (someone correct me if I'm wrong) is emulators/linux_base-7, which, as I understand it, *requires* additional support in Linux emulation that only exists in -CURRENT and fairly recent 4-STABLE. (As at least one person pointed out, 4.5-RELEASE will essentially be a future snapshot of 4-STABLE.)
