OK, you've seen the messages in response to your query, and I'll add mine. I would have to say that my experience with 4.0 is that it is, indeed, worth it; it seems quite a bit faster. Having said that, I made sure to wait (a difficult thing) for my CDs to show up from my subscription, and simply nuked what I had (sans backup, of course) and installed 4.0. I would encourage you to go that route when upgrading a major revision.
