I;ve run many versions of SMP FreeBSD on these boxes, certainly up to 4.6 - the trick (as far as I know) is to go into the BIOS and set the operating sywstem to Novell Netware SMP. Then it works. I got this tip from a memeber of this list in the netherlands who's name I forget, and it has worked for me on all manner of Compaq servers subsequently. -pcf.
