That doesn't make it correct to close the PR. David is pointing to a regression here: he says that the system can no longer recover from a resource problem where it previously did. That's serious enough to take another look at. I did take another look. I couldn't reproduce the problem. I've been running the test program for 5 minutes now, and I've collected about 3,200 zombies. Further forks fail because the proc table is full. There! I've stopped it with ^C.
