I've been maintaining the astro/gpsman port; you might want to contact
that port's author (Miguel Filgueiras <mig@ncc.up.pt>) to see if he'd be
interested.

GPSman is written in tcl/Tk, FWIW.  It currently supports Garmin &
Lowrance GPSen.
