FreeBSD doesn't assume that the current directory is in the PATH. To run something in the current dir you have to do ./programname It's something you have to get used to when you move over from DOS-ish OSs. Make sure the requisite path(s) are in .cshrc in your home directory. Look at the tcsh user's .tcshrc or .cshrc.
