It's really going to take a program to run from the client side making
this a question more appropriate in a Windows programming forum (sorry).

A MAPI inbox is ActiveX (OLE) "structured storage".  I'd shudder at trying
to peel this thing apart on FreeBSD without ActiveX.  If you accomplish
that properly, it will be a significant development for free software  ;-)

If you decide to continue under Win32, you want to use "Simple MAPI" to
keep from mucking about with ActiveX/COM interfaces directly.

You can use any automation host for writing the program, even Excel's VB
or ActiveWare Perl.
