One of the strengths of our ports system is the number of version-specific ports and the ease that they are created. This also means that there are many existing examples to follow. amanda ports/misc/amanda amanda24 ports/misc/amanda24 apache12 ports/www/apache12 apache13 ports/www/apache13 bzip ports/archivers/bzip bzip2 ports/archivers/bzip2 chimera ports/www/chimera chimera2 ports/www/chimera2 fvwm ports/x11-wm/fvwm fvwm2 ports/x11-wm/fvwm2 gcc11 ports/devel/gcc11 gcc28 ports/lang/gcc28 ja-tk42 ports/japanese/tk42 ja-tk80 ports/japanese/tk80 mew-emacs20 ports/mail/mew-emacs20 mew-xemacs ports/mail/mew-xemacs mew-xemacs20 ports/mail/mew-xemacs20 mysql321 ports/databases/mysql321 mysql322 ports/databases/mysql322 ncftp ports/net/ncftp ncftp2 ports/net/ncftp2 ncftp3 ports/net/ncftp3 netscape3 ports/www/netscape3 qt ports/x11-toolkits/qt qt133 ports/x11-toolkits/qt133 qt140 ports/x11-toolkits/qt140 qt141 ports/x11-toolkits/qt141 squeak1 ports/lang/squeak1 squeak2 ports/lang/squeak2 squid11 ports/www/squid11 squid11-novm ports/www/squid11-novm squid12 ports/www/squid12 squid20 ports/www/squid20 squid21 ports/www/squid21 ssh ports/security/ssh ssh2 ports/security/ssh2 And those are just the ones I gleaned in five minutes looking over CVSROOT/modules. I support you completely in having two ports, etc., etc., but please note that none of the above ports have the same directory naming style as yours. I agree completely with the names David suggested above. Please cvs remove and re-import the ports under the correct names. A repo-copy isn't necessary since they have no revision history. You may want to diverge from David's suggestion a little and name one of them without a version number and distribution ("RH", for RedHat being the current distribution) to signify which port is the current reccomended one. -- This is my .signature which gets appended to the end of my messages.
