Today I built a new kernel to accommodate the new CD-ROM drive and now when
I do "dmesg", dmesg complains about "magic number incorrect". I have no
idea which file's magic number is incorrect: /dev/kmem, /kernel, what?
Incidentally if I do a "file kernel", I get "unknown pure executable not
stripped", even though I didn't build with debugging info. Is this normal?
