I tried 5.3-RC1 and 5.3-STABLE and both refused to start network services. dhclient just hangs for about two minutes, then continues normally. The old trick (from 5.2-RELEASE) with using tcpdump to go to promiscuous mode no longer works. My board is the Asus K8V Deluxe, using the onboard sk LAN chip. If anyone needs specific output or information, let me know and I'll send it. -- Jem Matzan Contributing Editor, OSTG (Linux.com, NewsForge) Editor In Chief, The Jem Report 208 50th Avenue Plaza E Bradenton, FL 34203 (585)-414-5042
