Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the docs which described the
procedure for enabling SSE directly from AMD without signing a NDA,
so I can't check that this code might not do something bad in some
obscure case.

AMD said that if someone had already had access to the docs then
they could review the code and make recomendations to me, without
there being any problems. I think Peter may have the docs, but he's
been too busy to check.

Since making SSE available to users is a kernel option anyway, it
doesn't seem that much of an issue.
