Squashfs filesystems cannot be mounted on anything but Linux, however, the
Unsquashfs utility should compile and run under FreeBSD.  This can be used
to decompress Squashfs filesystems.  This isn't ideal, and I have considered
writing a kernel implementation of Squashfs for FreeBSD.
