Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-questions@freebsd.org X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk Hello Fellow FreeBSD-er! I have been a satisfied user FreeBSD 2.0.5 (on a Compaq DX4-100). Today, I tried to install it on an Aptiva 770 (P133, 32MB, 2.5GB HDD) and the install-disk failed to recognize the CD-ROM drive. When I tried to "attach matcd0" in the UserConfig, the message: matcd0: get_stat: After reading status byte, bus didn't go idle ff0 ffffffff keeps repeating. The CD-ROM drive came with the IBM and it says it's an "IBM CD-ROM". Is there any hope in getting FreeBSD (v2.0.5) to recognize this "IBM CD-ROM?" ANY help is appreciated and please kindly respond by email as I am not on the freebsd mailing list. Many Thanks. Regards, Nelson
