To: questions@FreeBSD.org (FreeBSD questions) Date: Thu, 9 May 1996 11:59:44 -0500 (CDT) X-Mailer: ELM [version 2.4 PL25] MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-questions@FreeBSD.org X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk Does anyone have the setup for tip to use a Sportster 14.4 FAXmodem which is used for both dial in and dial out that they would be willing to share? I tried using the default "sportster" entry in /etc/modems, but is says: tip: can't synchronize with sportster timeout waiting for reply Changing the init_string to include "Q0" helped a little, but it still doesn't work. I am using the Taylor "cu" and everything is working fine, so I know that there are no hardware or cabling problems, I just wanted to have "tip" available for certain applications. BTW, I don't susbscribe to this list, so please include me directly in any replies. TIA! John Lind, Starfire Consulting Services E-mail: john@starfire.MN.ORG USnail: PO Box 17247, Mpls MN 55417
