uhm, hello there.Every time I try to run sendmail (like when booting) i get the message "My unqualified hostname "independence" does not exist etc...etc.." and then it sleeps and retries.Anyway,it's the same message other people wrote about here. The only problem is that I have "hostname=independence" in my sysconfig file. Now,after testing a little bit,I found that I shouldn't have "127.0.0.1 independence" in my /etc/hosts file. When I remove that, nothing is wrong with my sendmail. It runs perfectly well. So,I guess it searches the /etc/hosts file for machines to which it delivers mail. However,I need to have the "127.0.0.1 independence" line in my /etc/hosts file because many many other wonderful stuff I run need it.I also need sendmail to run when I connect.I tried to do something with sendmail.cf but I can't say I understand anything in there (only a few parts of it).And,then...I thought of the mailing list.I'd appreciate it if someone would help me out here...thanx.. bye bye --------------------------------------------------------- Get Your *Web-Based* Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ---------------------------------------------------------
