Hi everyone. I'm new to the list and to using this module, so please forgive me if this has already been mentioned. We recently acquired a new server which has a Adaptec AIC-7890s on the motherboard with a SEAGATE ST39173LW Rev: 6246 drive and a Seagate STT20000N tape drive installed. I've been noticing the following messages in the /var/log/messages file over the past couple of days: May 3 09:47:34 gate2 kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 20477, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Write (10) 00 01 09 e6 a0 00 00 80 00 May 3 10:24:51 gate2 kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 35325, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Write (10) 00 00 f6 1d 33 00 00 80 00 May 3 10:27:33 gate2 kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 36091, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Read (6) 01 be aa 02 00 May 3 10:27:58 gate2 kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 37625, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Read (10) 00 00 f1 15 fb 00 00 02 00 May 3 10:27:58 gate2 kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 37626, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Read (10) 00 00 f1 0c 99 00 00 02 00 May 3 10:29:03 gate2 kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 46843, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Write (6) 00 bc 84 02 00 May 3 10:29:03 gate2 kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 46844, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Write (10) 00 00 7e fa c7 00 00 02 00 May 3 10:29:03 gate2 kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 46845, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Write (10) 00 00 97 fa d7 00 00 02 00 May 3 14:27:19 gate2 kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 37217, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Read (10) 00 00 80 31 dd 00 00 20 00 May 3 14:27:19 gate2 kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 37218, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Read (10) 00 00 80 32 1d 00 00 2c 00 May 3 14:27:19 gate2 kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 37219, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Read (10) 00 00 80 32 8f 00 00 24 00 May 3 15:35:23 gate2 kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 67429, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Read (6) 00 00 4b 02 00 May 4 03:17:44 gate2 kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 99240, scsi1, channel 0, id 2, lun 0 Write (6) 01 00 00 40 00 May 4 04:05:25 gate2 kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 276427, scsi1, channel 0, id 2, lun 0 Write (6) 01 00 00 40 00 May 4 04:24:45 gate2 kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 323634, scsi1, channel 0, id 2, lun 0 Write (6) 01 00 00 40 00 May 4 04:27:45 gate2 kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 338359, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Read (10) 00 01 0e da 44 00 00 0a 00 May 4 07:43:36 gate2 kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 369671, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Read (10) 00 01 0e cb 6a 00 00 08 00 Any ideas? The machine disk I/O just locks up for a good minute during these times. Also I noticed that sometimes (maybe unrelated) get some disk corruption also. I'm running RH 6.0 with version 5.1.16 of the aic7xxx driver installed. Here's a snippet of the boot messages from /var/log/messages. If there's anything that I can do to help, please let me know!
