I didn't use nor firefox, nor evolution, but all other is working fine 
to me on -current with recent xorg-related updates. Did you tried to 
start epiphany from terminal? Is there any errors when starting?

The good place for seeking error messages - ~/.xssession-errors and 
/var/log/Xorg.0.*
