The problem is everything works in NT and 98 (installed 98 using > floppy), so dealing with Asus is likely to get me an answer of 'We don't > support FreeBSD.' I have no doubt others are using this board without > problems in FreeBSD. I have used K7V with FreeBSD 4.x and 5.x for a long time. The box has equipped with all of following peripherals together: SK dual-port GigE, SCSI, Intel EEPRO 100+, as well as other devices. It has run FreeBSD for at least four months, and not seen any problem. ASUS will probably not answer your inquire at all. I have tried to contact them for serveral times, and only get one reply with useless message:-( However, the ASUS motherboards are very good (or best) for FreeBSD in my experience; I have processed over 100s motherboards including almost every ASUS motherboard. So, most likely is the hardware configuration in your situation. If your memory has 18 chips, you may have registered DIMM. If you have 16 chips DIMM, you may try it before making a conclusion.
