I just plugged a pionner cd-rom changer into an adaptec 2940 controller under FreeBSD 2.2.6-STABLE. Upon reboot the device is probed and the following shows up: ahc0 <Adaptec 2940 Ultra SCSI host adapter> rev 0 int a irq 11 on pci0:9:0 ahc0: aic7880 Single Channel, SCSI Id=7, 16 SCBs ahc0 waiting for scsi devices to settle (ahc0:2:0): "EXABYTE EXB-82058VQANXR1 0790" type 1 removable SCSI 2 st0(ahc0:2:0): Sequential-Access density code 0x0, drive empty (ahc0:3:0): "PIONEER CD-ROM DRM-602X 2902" type 5 removable SCSI 2 cd0(ahc0:3:0): CD-ROM can't get the size (ahc0:3:1): "PIONEER CD-ROM DRM-602X 2902" type 5 removable SCSI 2 cd1(ahc0:3:1): CD-ROM can't get the size [ REPEATED for 'cd2' - 'cd5' ] In my mind this means I should just be able to mount /dev/cd0a to a mount point and life is good... other than that 'can't get the size' error. However whenever I try this I get a 'MEDIUM NOT PRESENT' error. There are CDs in every slot. Any ideas what went wrong here? My kernel supports CD9660 format and has device cd0 enabled.
