My /etc/rc.conf file is clear of any ldconfig issues. I'll probably take another hard look at the make file and see what I can find. It could be there is a problem in the make file that I've missed. All things being equal, at this point in time I see only two alternatives: 1) The make file isn't pointing to the proper library 2) The library is old and doesn't contain the proper symbol.
