Been through the installation via the auto boot-up on the CD Rom. I start adjusting the kernal removing conflicting driversand keeping only what is installed on my system. I have a 440LX chipset, so I have two IDE controller ports. The first port has two hard drives, which read fine. The second has a Sony CDU621-D CD Rom and is installed as a slave (it will not install as a master, I've tried from the boards bios). So Iget through the entire set up of the install program and it asks which media do I wish to install from. I choose CD Rom and it says, "CD ROM not detected". Any ideas? I've tried different driver configurations, I like the OS, or at least something I'd like to try.
