But I need to see sssd log files. Could you provide them? BTW I assume you built sssd from ports wit enabled samba. Otherwise ad prov= ider will not be built. Another issue can be cause that openldap libraries are not build with sasl support (openldap-sasl-client). It is impossible to say without sssd log files.
