Any suggestions? Which chipset do you using? And what your dmesg saying about agp0 ? I had a problem when I use i845G + GeForceMX400, like you. This was because kernel recognzie AGP controller as agp0: <Intel Generic host to PCI bridge> mem 0xd0000000-0xd3ffffff at device 0.0 so it failed to manipulate.
