I don't know about the particular motherboard you're looking at, but VIA KT133/KT133A w/686B chipset motherboards can supposedly have issues with IDE data corruption (among other things), and, as far as I know, FreeBSD has no fixes for this (unlike Linux, I think). [ If anyone knows of FreeBSD fixes, I'd like to hear about them. ] Supposedly, the problem can be fixed in the BIOS, but I've only heard this as a rumor. You might want to verify that whatever you buy has the bug fixed.
